Judge Immergut encourages parties to afford opportunities for junior attorneys and diverse attorneys to argue before the Court.
Courtroom Rules
- Mobile devices must be turned off before entering the courtroom and remain off during all proceedings, except for members of the trial team.
- Please provide advance notice to the Courtroom Deputy when you require teleconferencing, intend to utilize the courtroom's video displays, or have other presentation technology questions.
- Attorneys and parties should conduct themselves with decorum and manners. This is primarily for your own benefit: jurors, courtroom staff, and public observers consistently state that they prefer a civil and collegial relationship between opposing parties and counsel.
- No food or drink, except water, is allowed in the courtroom.
- All litigants should be dressed appropriately for court and should advise clients and witnesses to do the same to the extent possible, even if appearing remotely.
- Counsel should always stand when addressing the Court.
- Judge Immergut does not allow “questions in aid of objection” or re-cross.
- Judge Immergut does not allow questions from jurors during trial or read-backs of trial testimony from the court reporter.
