Join members of the Oregon federal judiciary and practitioners from throughout the district at the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse Jury Assembly Room to learn about emergent issues in federal practice. Panel and speaker presentations will cover topics including modern First Amendment challenges and effective and ethical use of artificial intelligence in practice. Breakout sessions will feature civil Ninth Circuit case law updates and a presentation to criminal practitioners on the federal pretrial detention system. At this free, half-day CLE, light refreshments will be available prior to panels and at breaks, and attendees are welcome to bring a lunch.
