Important Information About Your CM/ECF Account

On January 21, 2020, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon will go live on the latest iteration of its Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF), known as NextGen CM/ECF (NextGen).  More information about NextGen is available here:  www.pacer.gov/nextgen/.

What Will Change?

NextGen will require filers to log in using their PACER credentials, rather than using separate CM/ECF credentials, as is done currently.  After the upgrade is complete, filers must link their PACER and CM/ECF accounts in order to log in to NextGen.

Steps to Take Now

If your PACER account was created before August of 2014, you must upgrade it.  Doing so will enable you to link your PACER and CM/ECF accounts once NextGen is implemented.
To determine whether your PACER account requires an upgrade, and to upgrade it if necessary, follow these simple instructions. It is important to ensure your PACER account is upgraded now, so that you will be able to link your PACER and CM/ECF accounts when NextGen is implemented.

Steps to Take Later

Once NextGen is implemented, CM/ECF account holders must link their PACER and CM/ECF accounts in order to log in to NextGen.  Before NextGen is implemented, instructions for linking those accounts will be posted on ord.uscourts.gov and on the CM/ECF login webpage.  Please look for new information as it becomes available on those webpages.
