Admissions
Admission into the Federal Bar for the U.S. District Court, District of Oregon is covered by Local Rule 83. Applicants must be active members in good standing with the Oregon State Bar (LR 83-2).
Attorneys seeking admission should complete an
(the "Application") and submit it along with the $200 fee payable to "Clerk, U.S. District Court." Applications may be submitted at the Intake Counter or by mail at any of the following locations:

CM/ECF and Consent to E-Service
The Application requires consent to electronic service of court documents via the District's Case Management and Electronic Case Filing("CM/ECF") system. Once an Application is approved, a CM/ECF login and password will be issued to the applicant. Applicants will receive an email with their login information.
Admissions Ceremonies
The District holds monthly admissions ceremonies, typically on the second or third Monday of the month. Ceremonies begin at 9:00 a.m., and attendees must check in by 8:55 a.m.
Applicants who submit their Applications in a given calendar month will normally be scheduled to attend the admissions ceremony for the following month. After an application is processed, an email is sent notifying the applicant of the ceremony date and location. If you cannot attend your scheduled ceremony, notify the Clerk's Office to reschedule.
Out-of-state applicants may make arrangements to be admitted without attending the ceremony (In Absentia Admission) by using the form to the left to contact the Attorney Admissions clerk.

Appearing Pro Hac Vice
Attorneys who are not active members of the Oregon State Bar must file an
in the case in which they wish to appear. Pro Hac applications may be filed via CM/ECF, by mail to one of the addresses listed above, or at the Intake Counter. Pro Hac applications must be accompanied by the application fee of $100, payable to "Clerk, U.S.District Court" (in the case of CM/ECF filing, payment may be made via Pay.gov).Appearances by Government Attorneys
Government attorneys who need to appear in the District should file an

Attorneys appearing on MDL matters transferred to the District of Oregon must complete an
to the Bar of the United States District Court for the District of Oregon in order to obtain a CM/ECF user account, login, and password. Completed applications may be mailed to the address listed above or delivered in person to the Clerk's Office. To obtain a Certificate of Good Standing, attorneys must submit a written request, along with payment of $18 per certificate, payable to "Clerk, U.S. District Court." The request can be submitted in person over the Intake Counter of any courthouse, or by mail to the address listed above.
